Music with Mr. Key
About Mr. Key
Edd Key is the Stevens Elementary Resident Artist in K-5 Music and Performance. His musical background includes American Roots and World Music, classical, folk, experimental, rock, and jazz. He completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, K-12 Vocal and Instrumental, from Western Kentucky University; and graduate work in Renaissance and Medieval musicology at Ohio State University. Mr. Key holds a Washington State Teacher’s Certification for music.
A fundamental focus of all these programs is to foster interest in musical learning through performance activities. Performance is the crucible where musical skill and design come together to create a practical, confidence-fostering experience for our students. These activities are designed to help students develop knowledge and skills that can be applied to a variety of musical endeavors – both active and passive – throughout their lives.
