Emily O'Sullivan MS, OTR/L Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Occupational Therapy services through the school district include the evaluation and treatment of fine motor difficulties and/or sensory processing challenges that directly impact the students’ performance within the context of their education. These challenges could impact a student’s ability to attend, focus, and participate during class activities or instruction, complete handwritten work, or be independent with daily living tasks, among other possible areas of challenge. Occupational therapy services are provided to students who are eligible for special education services if the student is demonstrating a need for the therapeutic services within their educational settings.
